SIONYX Nightwave Digital is the advanced IP-based digital version of the Nightwave ultra-low-light marine night vision camera. It is designed for boat owners, yacht skippers, professional captains, installers, and marine electronics specialists who require reliable night-time visibility with modern network connectivity and easy integration into onboard display systems.
Unlike the analog Nightwave version, Nightwave Digital is designed for digital video integration using network connectivity and Power over Ethernet. It provides a clean IP-based installation concept for compatible marine multifunction displays, onboard marine networks, Windows PCs, and Mac systems, making it especially suitable for modern yachts and professional marine electronics installations.
Nightwave Digital is built around SIONYX ultra-low-light Black Silicon CMOS sensor technology and NightIQ⢠image-optimization technology. It helps improve visibility after dark by providing full-colour digital night vision in extremely low-light marine conditions. This allows the skipper to better identify floating debris, navigation markers, buoys, small craft, shorelines, obstacles, and other objects that may be difficult to see with the naked eye.
The camera is engineered for night-time navigation, docking, anchoring, marina approaches, coastal cruising, tender operations, and general situational awareness on the water. With a minimum illumination specification of less than 0.001 lux, Nightwave Digital is designed to operate in moonless starlight and other very low-light environments where standard cameras cannot provide useful visibility.
SIONYX Nightwave Digital Video Overview
Watch the official SIONYX Nightwave Digital video to see how the digital ultra-low-light marine night vision camera is used for night-time navigation, obstacle awareness, and integration with modern marine electronics.
Nightwave Digital delivers a high-definition 1280 à 1024 image with up to 30 Hz frame rate and a stable 44° horizontal field of view. This gives the skipper a practical forward-looking view for marine navigation without requiring white light or expensive thermal imaging equipment.
Digital IP / PoE Marine Night Vision Camera
Nightwave Digital uses Power over Ethernet technology, allowing power and data to be handled through a network-based installation. The supplied PoE injector accepts 9ā36 V DC input and provides 48 V DC output for the camera. This digital architecture helps simplify installation and provides a modern connection method for compatible marine electronics.
The video output is H.264 Main Profile, making Nightwave Digital suitable for integration with supported network-capable marine displays and computer-based viewing systems. Compatibility includes major marine display platforms such as Garmin, Raymarine, and Navico / Simrad, as well as Windows PC and Mac environments, depending on the exact display model, firmware version, and installation configuration.
Designed for MFD Integration
Nightwave Digital is designed for seamless integration with compatible multifunction displays. This allows the camera image to be viewed directly on the vesselās existing navigation screen, reducing the need for a separate dedicated monitor and making the system easier to use at the helm.
Because marine displays can differ by model, generation, software version, and network configuration, compatibility should always be checked before final installation. For professional installations, a bench test with the intended MFD is recommended before the camera is permanently mounted.
Wi-Fi App Connectivity for Setup and Service
Nightwave Digital also supports Wi-Fi connectivity for use with the SIONYX mobile app during installation, configuration, and service. The app connection allows easier setup and adjustment without requiring complicated marine electronics tools.
Image settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness, saturation, and advanced filters can be adjusted to optimize the camera image for different lighting conditions, display types, and vessel installations.
Rugged Marine Construction
Nightwave Digital is built for demanding marine environments. The housing is made from UV-resistant polycarbonate and is rated IP67 water and dust resistant. The camera is designed to withstand saltwater environments, spray, rain, vibration, wind exposure, and regular marine use.
The camera can be mounted ball-up or ball-down, allowing flexible installation on different vessels and helm layouts. After installation, the camera can be manually adjusted to achieve the correct viewing angle for the vessel.

Important Difference from the Analog Nightwave Version
This product is the SIONYX Nightwave Digital IP / PoE version. It is intended for digital network-based video integration and is different from the analog Nightwave version, which uses analog video output for traditional MFD or monitor connections.
For installations where an analog video signal is required, the analog SIONYX Nightwave version should be selected instead. For modern network-based MFD integration, Windows PC, Mac, or digital marine electronics installations, Nightwave Digital is the preferred version.
