HELMSMAN control panel is made from high-quality aluminum alloy, precisely machined with CNC technology. Its robust and timeless design allows it to fit in all types of boat cockpits. The system can be used with a steering wheel or as a standalone unit. Additionally, the compact size enables installation of the panel as an additional control unit in the stern, flybridge, or sundeck. The clean design provides users with easy and understandable control of the device. All advanced configurations are accessed via computer, preventing the panel from being overloaded with rarely used menu options. The panel screen displays the boat’s heading or rudder position degrees, depending on the selected mode. Choose from three driving modes to ensure optimal control in any situation.

Select NAV mode to navigate the boat using the built-in autopilot. By turning the knob left or right, you can change the desired heading. As you increase or decrease the degrees, you will feel haptic feedback on the rotation knob, with each degree providing a tactile bump. After entering the desired heading and releasing the knob, the boat will begin to change its heading. When the boat’s current heading matches the desired heading, the knob automatically returns to its center position. NAV mode is particularly useful for long turns when only minor heading adjustments are needed.
AUTO mode allows you to change the desired heading by turning the knob left or right. The further you turn the knob, the faster the boat will change its heading. The haptic feedback on the knob increases resistance as you turn it more.
Once you have adjusted the boat’s heading, you can release the knob. It will immediately return to its center position, and the boat will continue to control the rudders autonomously to maintain the new heading.
This mode is highly useful in everyday situations. The system keeps your course straight, eliminating the need for manual steering adjustments. Additionally, when a heading change is required, you can do it in a proportional and comfortable manner without touching the steering wheel.
MAN mode is used in docking situations. On the display, you can see the current rudder position in degrees. By turning the knob, you directly control the rudder position. To set the rudder from the center position to full left, simply turn the knob to the left, and the system will handle the adjustment for you. Both the knob and the rudder will remain in position after the knob is released.
The haptic feedback provides a magnetic attraction feel at the center, full left, and full right positions. In the positions between, the knob will remain where you set it to maintain the desired rudder position. Turning the knob offers a comfortable resistance, ensuring precise and responsive control.
